Knits to fit every body: Scottish knitwear brand launches innovative custom collection
Share
Scottish sustainable knitwear brand Woolkind has launched its first collection of customisable garments, all handmade in its Edinburgh studio and celebrating the joy of diversity, individuality and size inclusivity.

The new collection of tank tops is knitted in-house using 100% superfine merino wool, and are all bespoke pieces, made to order in the customer’s choice of colour, size and length. These are the first garments in the Woolkind collection, designed and made by founder Laurence Di Sotto along with the scarves, wraps and accessories which the brand is known for.

Customers can take their pick from Woolkind’s signature super soft wool in 21 colours, from bold and bright to chalky pastels and no-fuss neutrals, with the option to use different shades for the body, neckline and arms - perfect whether you love a colour clash or prefer something simpler.
Woolkind’s customisation tool allows customers to design their bespoke knitwear online if they can’t make it to the light-filled studio for an in-person fitting and consultation. Di Sotto has developed a ‘fit library’ - a clever sizing guide to help online shoppers find their perfect fit, whether they prefer the tank top tailored or oversized, cropped or longer length. After a call-out on social media, scores of volunteers stopped by to try on samples and match sizes and shapes to the knitted vests, allowing online customers to select their size with confidence.

Commenting on the launch, Laurence Di Sotto said, “I’m so excited to launch my first Woolkind garments and to offer a unique custom experience to all of my customers. It’s incredible how many people have got involved in building the fit library - it’s a true community response and reflects the Woolkind vision of making real clothes for real people. I love meeting customers in the Woolkind studio but know that this isn’t an option for everyone, so I’m really delighted to make my bespoke knits available to order online and hope they’ll bring joy for years to come.”
The new collection stays true to Woolkind’s ethos as the antithesis of fast fashion - everything's knitted in small batches or to order, with care and incredible attention to detail to create knitwear that’s made to last and made to love. The brand’s ethical supply chain means that the whole range is fully traceable and arrives (beautifully) wrapped in compostable packaging.

The tank tops will be available to order from Friday 29th May, both online at woolkind.com or in person at the Woolkind studio near the Meadows in Edinburgh. Find more details, join the waiting list or shop the collection at woolkind.com.
